Spiritual companionship is an ancient time-honoured practice of compassionate, non-judgmental listening, sometimes called holy listening, where what is shared is held with reverence and confidentiality.

I have been a Spiritual Companion for several years – in Gaelic – an Anam Cara, a soul friend. I prayerfully accompany you and help you to come to a deeper awareness of the presence of God and the movement of the Holy Spirit in your life.

As an Associate Member of The Iona Community, (a dispersed Christian ecumenical community working for peace and social justice, rebuilding of community and the renewal of worship), my life, faith and spiritual companioning is grounded in Celtic Christian spirituality and in the gift of ongoing spiritual formation which I receive from the Community.

I live by The Rule of the Iona Community and commit to:

  • Daily prayer, worship with others and regular engagement with the Bible and other resources which nourishes us;
  • Working for justice and peace, wholeness and reconciliation in our localities, society and the whole of creation;
  • Supporting one another in prayer and by meeting, communicating, and accounting with one another for the use of our gifts, money and time, our use of the Earth’s resources and our keeping of all aspects of the Rule.
  • Sharing in the corporate life and organisation of the Community.

I am a member of Spiritual Directors International and in good standing. Spiritual companioning sessions are for one hour, usually held every 4 – 6 weeks or whenever feels best for you. A one-hour introductory session is offered free of charge. I offer sessions in person or online via Zoom. If you would like to explore your own spiritual path, reflect upon and discern a deeper connection with the presence of God please contact me via the enquiry form below.
